Global Trade & Technology (GT2) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to the ensure that America's current and future enterprise workers and leaders can excel in the global economy. This global excellence mission has several essential outcomes:

  • Prepare current and future enterprise workers and leaders to successfully compete in the global economy.
  • Export "Made in America" goods and services as easily and economically as doing business across the street thereby increasing exports and jobs while reducing trade deficits.
  • Strengthen and diversify local economies in a highly competitive global marketplace.
  • Create millions of new, direct U.S. jobs, especially by small and mid-sized, women-owned, Native American-owned, and/or minority-owned enterprises.

OUR VISION

  • 4 million new, globally competitive, direct U.S. jobs in 4 years
  • $1 trillion new annual 'Made in America' exports
  • Millions of new and/or revitalized, sustainable careers
  • Virtual international eCommerce (trade) implemented in its broadest context
  • Industry, labor, local-state-federal agencies, and investors working together as an unbeatable national team selling into global markets

We believe the above outcomes are essential to the well-being and security of our Nation and can be achieved using a bold, revolutionary approach undergirded with technology, focused and effective private-public partnerships, and strong energized private and public sector leadership.

GT2's business plan and strategy is designed to address each of the outcomes, in whole or in part, each still an integral part of the overall business plan.

The education and Training Plan focuses on creating a pipeline of graduating high school students with science, technology, engineering, math and social sciences skills required to succeed in college and in the jobs for the 21st Century global marketplace.

GT2's plan supports the education system by challenging students with interesting science, technology, engineering, math and social learning using technology. Technology will drive the 21st century marketplace, yet the U.S. is lagging behind other countries, even second and third world countries, in preparing students with the needed skills, knowledge and mindset.

FOUR CRITICAL RESULTS NEEDED

1) Advanced 21st Century global training, education and mentoring have to become commonplace and focused on creating U.S. jobs from exports

2) A variety of highly effective public-private partnerships have to be crafted and fully engaged in supporting exporters and essential export functions

3)  Exporting from the U.S. has to be made as quick, easy, cost-effective and risk-free as it is for foreigners to export to the U.S.! About 96% of the world’s consumers live outside the U.S. borders. Small, mid-sized and large U.S. firms have to be able to do business overseas as quickly, easily, economically and securely as they currently do business domestically; and

4)  America’s long-standing and highly effective domestic job creation engine, U.S. small and mid-size enterprises (SME), has to become a major exporter creating millions of new, export-based U.S. jobs. Only 1% of U.S.'s SME currently export goods each year. The record $617 billion U.S. trade deficit in 2004 could be eliminated and four million permanent U.S. jobs could be created by just doubling the number of SME exporters and their export volumes.
