EXPERIENCED BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ADVISORS – The national nonprofit Global Trade and Technology (GT2) organization has a board of directors and senior advisors with highly diversified national and international experience. The board/advisory team experience covers the gamut from small and women-owned businesses exporting products into foreign markets to large, multinational corporations manufacturing in the U.S. and exporting overseas. GT2’s board includes two former national lab executives, a former presidential appointee, advisors or confidants of six recent U.S. presidents, and a former U.S. congressional staffer. Geographically dispersed, GT2 already has board members and senior advisors in eleven states plus the District of Columbia and expects to be in all 50 states in 2006. Its board/advisory team includes leaders from universities, women-owned businesses and public policy advocacy organizations, Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans and others.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE NONPROFIT – GT2 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a global reach and a national focus to make exporting of goods and services as easy and economical as doing business domestically. GT2 is empowered to help 1) create new U.S. jobs; 2) create and expand U.S. enterprises especially in economically depressed areas; and 3) educate, train, and mentor workers, entrepreneurs, and enterprises especially small or mid-sized enterprises (SME) and women-owned, Native American-owned, and/or minority-owned enterprises. GT2 is seeking funding to enhance, integrate and demonstrate its export simplification technologies and to create virtual and actual mobile and permanent "one stop", all inclusive eCommerce Single-Point-of-Contact-Centers. GT2's "one stop" eCommerce virtual trade centers when fully functional will be totally unique and the most effective exports generator and U.S. jobs generator in the world. GT2's eCommerce virtual trade enters can easily help the private sector, especially the prolific SME, create a billion dollars of new exports and four million new permanent direct U.S. jobs in four years.

GT2's FOCUS –- We are focused on creating jobs, especially in economically distressed and/or underserved areas with a priority on small and mid-sized, women-owned, Native American-owned and/or minority-owned enterprises. GT2's capabilities will be made available to all individuals, e.g., entrepreneurs and enterprise managers and owners who want to start exporting or increase their existing export volumes. GT2 will provide training, education, mentoring, technology and resources to workers and business-oriented men and women. GT2 believes the best way to create lots of new permanent jobs quickly and to serve a public good of reducing trade deficits is to appeal to and support the best job-creating engine in the U.S. -- small and mid-sized enterprises or SMEs -- in starting or growing their export volumes. The record U.S. trade deficit of $617 billion in 2004 could be eliminated if the 1% of SMEs who currently export doubled in number and in export volumes. Assuming one new U.S. job is created for every $150,000 in exports, four million new direct sustainable jobs could be created in the U.S. by just 2% of the total SMEs in the U.S. exporting these larger volumes.

GT2's UNIQUENESS AND STRENGTHS – GT2 is virtual, neutral, an enabler, a catalyst, an integrator, a partner, and a trainer/educator/mentor. Just as the Internet has changed and improved dramatically communications, information, learning and knowledge, GT2 is changing and improving dramatically U.S. exporting and job creation. Just as the Internet made many traditional U.S. capabilities better, faster and cheaper by making them "virtual", GT2 is making all aspects of exporting better, faster and cheaper by making exporting "virtual" supported by "one stop" eCommerce mobile and permanent centers. GT2's eCommerce is comprehensive, advanced state-of-the-art, with all necessary functions to find, market, communicate, demonstrate, sell, finance, deliver (export & import), install, train, service and support regulatory-compliant products and services.

  • Virtual - Exists wherever and whenever needed via high fidelity, interactive, multi-media broadcast and/or the Internet supported by "one stop" eCommerce centers
  • Neutral - Does not compete with current private, public or government capabilities
  • Enabler - Make essential export functions readily available virtually and actually
  • Catalyst - Enhance, complement, supplement and support all existing public, private and government export capabilities domestically and overseas
  • Integrator - Integrate advanced information and communication technologies with new innovations and management methodologies for export simplification
  • Partner - Partner with private, public and government entities interested in creating sustainable U.S. jobs especially through exports by underserved SMEs
  • Trainer/Educator/Mentor - Help the U.S. become the world leader in 21st Century training, education and mentoring at all levels and in all aspects of global trade

FOUR FOUNDATIONAL EXPORT SIMPLIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES –- GT2's permanent and mobile facilities will provide widely accessible eCommerce technology and export support services such as real-time multiple language translation, real-time interactive broadcast and Internet conferencing, data mining, and integration of databases into a seamless, user friendly resource.

ONE STOP eCOMMERCE VIRTUAL TRADE CENTERS – GT2's signature addition to the many excellent support capabilities within the U.S. export community is to make exporting as "seamless", "easy" and "virtual" as it can get. GT2 is doing this by enhancing and integrating two of America's strengths -- advanced communications and information technologies. To this technology simplification portfolio, GT2 adds three additional critical elements: 1) essential innovations and management methodologies, 2) effective public-private partnerships, and 3) training, education and mentoring. The many mobile, several fixed and thousands of virtual Centers throughout the U.S. will be centers of excellence where US industry, labor, local-state-federal agencies, government laboratories and universities will have an opportunity to participate. The Centers will provide, physically or virtually, every essential function to find foreign customers, demonstrate products and services, make and finance a sale, deliver a sold product or service that meets all export and import requirements, train the customer's staff and workers, and install and service the product or service -- all without leaving the U.S. Many U.S. private and government entities, through effective public-private partnerships, will be important in making this virtual eCommerce a timely, big success. Industry, labor, government agencies and investors must become an unbeatable national team, led by the private sector, selling into global markets.

MARKET SECTORS – The market sectors upon which GT2 will initially focus are:

  • energy
  • environment
  • infrastructure
  • transportation
  • safety and security
  • training-education-mentoring
